Misha - A Memoire of the Holocaust Years - Note studies, scraps

It's so striking as you read passages of great joy and beauty spiked with pure fear and horror. This story lit up my imagination and as I look now it has some wonderful photographs that informed how Misha looks in the drawings. It beggars belief how a suburban child could survive the wilds and war, yet with pluck and pragmatic resourcefulness the events make her grow and learn very fast. Out of nowhere came the sketch with the giant wolf, a seed for Silvy's Storm.
