Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials - Will Parry

Making images of principal characters is best avoided, because of all of the emotional links a reader makes the personality become crystal, and if your idea doesn't fit it breaks the illusion. With Will there were so many things however that I wanted to draw. His injury from the fight for the knife is just one of his problems, I imagine him aged way beyond his years and so gaunt. There are wonderful scenes of him doing test cuts into other worlds, to get an idea of elevation, climate etc which I need to revisit and develop more thoroughly.
